La Chole Archeological Site near to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo

La Soledad De Maciel ( LA CHOLE) La Chole is just 25 minutes away from Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is a small village with 350 People and 80 Houses.

Many Artifacts has been found since 1930 but recently since 2008 the federal government has assigned archaeologist to excavate the area and report their finding and they have reported many artifacts and jewelry linked to many cultures, including the Tarascan, Aztec, Toltec and Olmec.

Some of the artifacts are in Zihuatanejo Museum of La Costa Grande but Now La Chole has a museum and the large stone rings that were in Petatlan were moved to this new museum so people can come and admire them at this Archaeological Zone.

Tour includes:

  • The tour will include Air Conditioned Transportation from your hotel Lobby by 9:30:00am
  • Local Guide at the museum that will show us and explain us about this archeological site
  • A Visit to the Prehispanic Football Field and to the Pyramid that is being excavated
  • A walk to trough the town to visit the church and the cigar maker
